Membership
Membership at The Harbour Church is best defined by what we see in the birthing of the early church. Acts 2:40-47 outlines a relational approach to community which provides the framework we use for membership.
The Lord counted the members of this New Testament family of believers to be those who:
- Relationally received the gospel of Jesus Christ with gladness. (v. 41)
- Relationally submitted themselves to the apostolic leadership team. (v. 42)
- Relationally engaged with the other members in frequent fellowship, communion and prayer. (v. 42)
- Relationally connected their heart to what the Holy Spirit was doing in their midst by the giving of their time, talents and resources. (v. 43-46)
As these members of the New Testament church united in relational intimacy with Jesus and each other, they walked in divine favor and the Lord added daily to the church those who were being saved. At The Harbour Church, we view membership as more than simply attendance, it is being in relationship our community. Practically, we see this being walked out through getting connected to a Home Fellowship and serving in one of the Harbour Core teams.
Next Steps
Once you find a home fellowship, be sure to sign up for Harbour DNA. It is a 3-class introduction to our story, our culture and it will provide you with an on-ramp to getting connected.
If you haven’t already done so, fill out a Connection Card either at your Home Fellowship or Friday Night meeting, where you can ask about our next Harbour DNA classes at the Welcome Center.
